The pilot phase of British Council’s EDGE course in collaboration with Digital Empowerment Foundation concluded with flying colours. An end-course assessment test was organised in the month of March at respective CIRCs of Kapashera and Wazirabad in Delhi, and Chandauli and Mungaska in Alwar district of Rajasthan. Each centre was visited by representatives from CIRC headquarters and British Council to observe the test in progress as well as interact with students.
A total of 100 girl students appeared for the assessment. It was observed that girls who couldn’t speak even few words in English can now recite poems, Moreover; they feel less hesitant in operating digital tools such as mobile phones and computer. At the end of the course, girls felt more confident in expressing themselves and had become more ambitious.
