Right to information is an invaluable tool that gives power to every citizen of the country to obtain information that would enable them to exercise their rights more effectively and thereby promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of the government. Right to Information empowers citizens to stand against corruption and unfair practices, making democracy work ‘for the people’ in real sense. An informed citizen keeps a close eye over the instruments of governance, thus making the government accountable for its actions.
