CIRC, Giridih is working well under Nav Jagriti Yuva Mandal, with the financial and infrastructural support by Digital Empowerment Foundation, Delhi. CIRC is most advantageous for youth here. In this centre many people are getting computer education through digital literacy program. Recently 60 students are enrolled in computer course and other 15 people come here to learn computer. It is free service for poor people and for others a very minimal fee is taken.
For competitive future, children must have basic computer knowledge. CIRC provides basic platform for children of Birni to learn computer. Due to this, there are 25 children enrolled with this centre. There is one recent example in Navgarh village. A kid was suffering polio. His parents were very concerned about his treatment. His father got information about better treatment and booked railway e-ticket from CIRC centre.
Main aim of CIRC is personality development of youth there and gives information regarding government policies to village people. Day by day, the number of villagers visiting centre for online application, downloading and billing are increasing. CIRC provides other information related to village development policies like MNREGA, Vridhha pension. Membership fee of CIRC Giridih is very minimal and member can get much information free from centre. There has been a notable increase in enrolment this year.
Under the guidance of DEF, Nav Jagriti Yuva Mandal is about to launch community radio service. Currently, CIRC building is under construction. This is going to be the first CIRC centre having concrete building.
