World Telecommunications Day Celebrations
DEF Founder-Director Osama Manzar, along with Manoj Dawane, Shubhangi Kitchloo and Sumana Sarkar from Ericsson India, visited baank-e-loom Saidanpur in Barabanki District of Uttar Pradesh. During this visit, they met weavers, community members and interacted with students at the centre. They also visited the centres where wireless internet nodes have recently been installed. Learners were very happy to meet and interact with the visitors. Many students displayed their artworks which was greatly appreciated by all.
Baank-e-loom is a project introduced in Saidanpur town of Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh to educate and empower traditional weavers through digital literacy and enable them to make use of their knowledge in their skill.
