Shamsabad is 25 km to the west of tehsil Farrukhabad in Uttarpradesh. Samshabad is an ancient town with wide variety in the communities. It has population of 23,584 including 53% males and 47% females. Many communities in Muslim like Syed, Khan, Ansari, Qureshi and in Hindu, Gupta, Rastogi and Pandit are living in mahholas with amity. Despite of two girls inter college, one degree college, literacy percentage is very low. Education is extremely poor due to irresponsible state government and unawareness of villagers.
Resources of income are ‘karchob (zari art)’ and other seasonal agriculture activities, especially tobacco growing, which is very labour oriented. The youth of Shamsabad mostly go to Delhi to get some sort of employment there. Transportation system is in dire and need of improvement. No permanent transport facilities to connect Shamsabad to any other city.
CIRC, Shamsabad was inaugurated on 2nd April, 2014 in presence of chief guest Navab Sayyed Ali Tahir and special guest Dr. Shahid Siddiqui. 150 people came to centre from nearest villages, Joyne, Kharita, Sikandarpur, Alipur and Baksar to know about the CIRC and facilities provided from the centre.
Centre acts as a bridge to villagers to connect with digital world as they can obtain knowledge through computer. Digitization leads their lives towards amelioration and enhancement. They have awareness of their rights, government services. Recently, for health betterment, centre has conducted a programme in which villagers can have their ECG report without waiting in long queue at hospital.
Till now, 251 students have been enrolled in Intel Easy course and 5 members have got membership. In May, 36 girls and 88 boys and in June, 28 boys and 12 girls have passed out. Currently, two batches are running, one with 16 boys and other with 6 girls. No of visitors are increasing rapidly and around 100 visitors per month come here to be a part of this centre.
