On the occasion of children’s day, the British Council’s ‘English and Digital for Girl’s Education (EDGE) programme, in collaboration with Digital Empowerment Foundation was started at CIRC Halduchaur of Uttarakhand’. Commencement of this course was much awaited by the adolescent girls of this region. Study kits were distributed among enrolled students. This course is designed with the concept of peer-to-peer learning, making it different from the conventional classroom curriculum delivery. The course would make use of digital as well as non-digital tools and would include activities and games to make learning a memorable experience. In this way, the EDGE programme would not only help adolescent girls gain confidence in English speaking skills but also help them improve their knowledge of computers.
