Jagdishpur is a town in Tirhut division of West Champaran, Bihar. Maithali, Urdu and Magahi speaking 8,000 people are living there. Jagdishpur and other areas of Bihar are suffering from poverty, negative social values, lack of education, poor access of resources and means, and services and facilities. Main source of income is agriculture activities but due to small land holding size, fragmented land and unplanned land management led them under poverty line. Men and women discrimination prevailing in the society have kept women away from education. Children are forced to work at hazardous places to get some financial contribution for their families and school has become a dream for them.
