Kapashera is located on the border of Delhi and Gurgaon. In this area most of the employers are migrant worker and working in the garment factories. Due to increase in population, there has been a notable development taking place in infrastructure. Literacy rate acts as a measure of development of any area. But educational development of Kapashera remained in bottom.Digital empowerment foundation, Delhi has established Community Information Resource Centre on the special occasion of youth day. The purpose of this centre is to spread awareness among these workers through digital literacy. People have relevant information from CIRC’s internet service.Regular classes were started from 20th January, 2014 and 25 students had registered themselves on that day. They are attending their classes on regular basis and getting involved in Tarang Kala Kendra’s (Local Partner of CIRC Kapashera) creative arts. One month computer course was launched for other students in February. Many students had shown their interest in this programme.

As this centre is launched on community expectation, response from community is laudable. They are showing great support to Tarang’s different workshops on dance, theatre, photography and music. People are visiting centre to get benefits of digital library and internet services.

As community response is good, So in our CIRC Project’s future endeavours we will introduce some other components at this centre accordingly their requirements.
