At a young age of 10, Muskan Verma, a native of Saidanpur in district Barabanki of Uttar Pradesh, can do more with a computer than her any other friend. A student of 6th standard, she joined CIRC Saidanpur after meeting with the centre mobilisation team. She started attending digital literacy classes regularly and now she can draw pictures with paint perfectly on laptop and can write a two page essay on MS Word without any mistake. She finds interest in surfing the internet as well. During digital training classes, one would often find her searching for information on her favourite celebrities, and inspirational figures. Sometimes, she would read about Kalpana Chawla and Mary Kom, while other times, she would look for jokes and children’s stories. The CIRC project is bringing many rural children like Muskan a step closer to digital education.
