Ten years after the establishment of RTI Act, Panchayat and citizens at Wadsa are now well aware of their rights and how to practise them. In a workshop conducted with support of dCIRC Wadsa in District Gadchiroli of Maharashtra, Panchayat as well as community members were educated about the toilet construction fund introduced by the Central Government. The workshop was attended by people in large numbers belonging to the Madiya tribe. Resultantly, 22 applications were submitted, each duly receiving the stipulated amount within the Toilet Construction Fund. Applicants were assisted by the staff of dCIRC Wadsa for submission of applications and required documents online. Now more people in the village have started to avail for the benefit, showing remarkable signs behavioural change and healthy approach towards health and hygiene, especially in a tribal dominated region.
