Gyarasi Saharia resides in Kishanganj town of district Baran in Rajasthan. Gyarasi has dedicated her life towards working for the upliftment of the Sahria community. Sahria is one of the most backward communities of the country where cases of bonded labour are often reported. Working closely with government authorities, Gyarasi has played a key role in liberating almost 200 bonded labourers in blocks Kishanganj and Shahbad. Her endeavours have garnered her several at national level awards. For a long time, Gyarasi has been helping women of her community to make a better life for themselves by working on their rights and entitlements including pension, MNREGA and education. She also takes active part in programmes introduced to combat prevalent social evils such as bonded labour and exploitation. Gyarasi recently joined CIRC Bhanwargarh as she felt the need of learning computers and how the acquired knowledge would help in her work. After learning computers, Gyarasi plans to pass-on her knowledge to the other women of her community as well.
