Story of a carpenter driven by his passion to become digitally literate
From being an ordinary 10th pass to becoming an expert Data Entry Operator, Manraj Gurjar came a long way. Hailing from village Arain, Rajasthan, Manraj began helping her husband on the farm right after her marriage. When she heard about the NDLM centre operating in her village, she couldn’t wait to join and learn computers. Initially, it was not easy to win her husband’s support. But when she did, little did she realize of her ensuing journey of bigger achievements. Almost immediately, she impressed everyone at the centre by her incredible grasping power. This could not stay unheard by the local MGNREGA office and soon she received a call from them. They were looking for somebody proficient in data entry and Manraj was the perfect candidate. Today, as a successful Data Entry Operator she does not only supplement to her family income, but makes them very proud, too.
