Power of social media was realised when dCIRC Bhavan in District Aurangabad in Maharashtra collected large quantities of donations through a social media appeal for the drought affected families in Marathwada region. This included food grains, clothes and stationery items. The stock was then distributed in different villages and schools. These also included families of farmers who succumbed to suicide. The staff of dCIRC Bhavan also counselled farmers who were on the verge of committing suicide and told him to never lose hope. Children of such families were provided digital literacy at the centre so that they can get better livelihood opportunities as they grow up.
